Domestic Violence, shots fired
09/08/16
At 12:32 am, deputies responded to the 9400 block of Annas Lane in reference to Domestic Violence. A female called and stated her son threatened her with a gun and then shot at her. She also stated that earlier in the week he stabbed some of their dogs too.
Deputies arrived at the scene and set up a perimeter around the residence. SWAT was called in, as well as the Hostage Negotiation Team. Several attempts were made to contact the individual inside the residence to get him to come out peacefully. At approximately 5:00 am, the decision was made to make entry. SWAT made entry into the residence at 5:12 am. They were able to locate the subject and take him into custody without incident or use of force. A .38 caliber revolver was also seized.
One subject was transported to the Cole County Jail without incident. The subject was booked and processed for Domestic Assault 2nd Degree and Unlawful Use of a Weapon. He is awaiting formal charges from the Cole County Prosecutor.
A great job by Cole County Deputies, SWAT and the Hostage Negotiation Team. We would also like to thank the Jefferson City Police Department for handling calls in the county while we dealt with this Domestic.
