JEFFERSON CITY, MISSOURI (July 13, 2017) – A Jefferson City man was sentenced to prison for possession of firearms by a felon. Cole Holleman pled guilty to possession of a firearm by a felon on January 11, 2017 for events that occurred in October of 2015. On July 12, 2017, Holleman was sentenced to ten years in the Missouri Department of Corrections pursuant to the 120 day call-back program under Section 559.115, RSMo. Holleman will likely be released 120 days from July 12, 2017.
According to the sentencing recommendation filed by the Cole County Prosecutor’s Office, the State of Missouri requested a five (5) year prison sentence for Holleman. Further, according to the sentencing recommendation, Holleman has previous felony convictions for theft (7 prior convictions), forgery, burglary and receiving stolen property. He was sentenced to probation, long term drug treatment, and prison for his prior convictions. Additionally, Holleman has two pending misdemeanor cases for domestic assault and violation of order of protection. Mr. Holleman also has a pending felony property damage case.
According to the charging documents, Mr. Holleman was found to be in possession three firearms: a Bersa Thunder .380 pistol, a Ruger .22 caliber rifle, and a Ruger .357 magnum revolver.
