OLD FORGE ROAD BRIDGE REPLACEMENT BEGINS NEXT WEEK
Construction work to replace the Old Forge Road Bridge over Clark Branch will begin on Monday, May 17th, weather permitting. Brenneke Construction LLC was awarded the $360,000 project by the County Commission in April. During construction, Old Forge Road will be closed to thru traffic. Changeable messages signs will be in place to alert the traveling public when the road is closed.
The existing bridge was built in 1930 and was on MoDOT’s BRO listing as a structurally deficient bridge. The new bridge will be wider and have guardrail on both sides of the bridge.
The project is scheduled to last through the summer months with a completion date of December 31st. The Public Works department understands there will be inconveniences due to this project and we are being proactive in dealing with potential issues up front. Innovative contracting allowed the contractor to design a way to keep the inconveniences to a minimum. We are excited about the long term benefits this project will bring to the area and appreciate the public’s cooperation over the course of this year.
