EMS Training Division
The Cole County EMS Training Division is responsible for overseeing new employee orientation and the continuing education program for our agency, as well as our partnering agencies providing first response. In addition to providing regularly scheduled continuing education courses, the EMS Training Division also plays an active role in our quality assurance and improvement programs and provides high-fidelity simulation to improve the performance of our medical providers.
FlightBridgeED Partnership-
Cole County EMS is proud education partner of FlightBridgeED. FlightBridgeED provides pre-hospital, critical care, and emergency medicine education for flight paramedics, flight nurses, critical care paramedics, and nurses working in critical care environments. Continuing Education Courses-
The Training Division offers a wide range of continuing education courses for both internal and external EMS professionals. A description of the continuing education courses offered is available below. If you are an EMS profession and are interested in attending one of our courses, simply select the course you wish to attend in the calendar located at the bottom of the page and complete the registration process as prompted.

Continuing Education Courses Offered by CCEMS
All participants MUST register for the course online through the calendar below. Failure to register can result in being denied entry and/or participation in the course.
AHA Healthcare Provider CPR
This classroom, Instructor-led course teaches both single-rescuer and team basic life support skills for application in both prehospital and in-facility environments, with a focus on High-Quality CPR and team dynamics.
Cost: $50*
Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS)
This classroom, Instructor-led course highlights the importance of high-performance team dynamics and communication, systems of care, recognition and intervention of cardiopulmonary arrest, immediate post-cardiac arrest, acute dysrhythmia, stroke, and acute coronary syndromes (ACS).

Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS)
This classroom, Instructor-led course uses a series of videos and simulated pediatric emergencies to reinforce the important concepts of a systematic approach to pediatric assessment, basic life support, PALS treatment algorithms, effective resuscitation, and team dynamics.

Prehospital Trauma Life Support (PHTLS)
This classroom, Instructor-led course improves the quality of trauma care and decrease mortality. The program is based on a philosophy stressing the treatment of the multi-system trauma patient as a unique entity with specific needs. PHTLS promotes critical thinking as the foundation for providing quality care.

Advanced Medical Life Support (AMLS)
This classroom, Instructor-led course emphasizes the use of scene size-up, history, interactive group discussion on potential treatment strategies, and physical exam to systematically rule out and consider possibilities and probabilities in treating patients’ medical crises.

Geriatric Education for EMS (GEMS)
This classroom, instructor-led course provides EMS practitioners at all levels with the skills and knowledge to address the unique medical, social, environmental and communications challenges of older adults. Developed by NAEMT, in partnership with the American Geriatrics Society, GEMS empowers EMS practitioners to help improve medical outcomes and quality of life for geriatric patients.

*cost of course does not include cost of student manual. If the student would like to keep their manual, the cost of the manual will be added to the overall charge of the course.
