Cole County Emergency Medical Services (CCEMS) is the sole emergency medical services transport agency within Cole County.  We respond to over 10,000 calls for service each year.  To ensure our citizens and visitors receive timely emergency care, CCEMS staffs five (5) Advanced Life Support (ALS) ambulances and one EMS Battalion Chief 24hrs a day.  Additionally, three (3) peak units are deployed 12hrs a day to increase our ability to handle the call volume.  We employ nearly 75 Paramedics, Emergency Medical Technicians and Emergency Medical Dispatchers.

Funding & Improvements

Cole County Emergency Medical began operations on July 19, 2009, when the service was established as a county department, which is supported through sales tax and service revenue. Since it's establishment, CCEMS has continued to invest in the emergency care of our residents though improvements such as:

  • Three (3) additional ambulance deployed throughout the County, including in the Eastern and Southwestern areas of the County
  • New cardiac monitors, with wireless EKG transmission for patients with life-threatening cardiac events
  • New pediatric treatment equipment (Handtevy system)
