Civil Division

The Circuit Civil division handles all the lawsuits involving money and enforcement of private rights between parties. The office handles adult abuse petitions, child protection, dissolution of marriage actions, custody proceedings and paternity actions.

Circuit Clerk's Civil Division
The Civil division of the Circuit Clerk’s office maintains all official records when the legal rights and responsibilities involving individual or corporations are to be determined by a court. The Associate Civil division handles small claims cases for money owing up to $3,000.00, rent and possession, and civil actions up to $25,000.00.

The Circuit Clerk’s office maintains the records from the beginning of the case until the conclusion when money may be owed and collected of judgment enforced. Entries of court activity can be accessed on most cases through Your Missouri Courts.
